Defining FinOps Scopes to provide better ROI on FinOps activities

The FinOps Framework Scopes, introduced in the 2025 FinOps Framework and increasingly adopted in 2026, are reshaping how organizations manage cloud cost and value. This workshop introduces the Scopes concept and then guides participants through defining Scopes for SaaS, AI, datacenters, and other technology domains. Through hands‑on exploration, attendees will learn how Scopes improve ROI by clarifying accountability, aligning optimization efforts. The session concludes with a high‑level implementation plan that participants can take back to their organizations to begin applying Scopes immediately and more effectively.
